Tracking time
The Pryme Time timer widget is a small, stand-alone window that stays visible on your screen while you work. It gives you instant access to your time tracking entries without opening Business Central, making it easy to start, stop, and manage time as you go throughout the day.
To setup time tracker
Before users can connect to the timer app, an app registration is required in Azure Entra ID. Once the app is registered, copy the Client ID and paste it into the Timer App Client ID field in Pryme Time Setup in Business Central.
Note
One important setting must be enabled on the app registration: open the Authentication page in Azure Entra ID, scroll down to Allow public client flows, and make sure the toggle is set to Enabled. Without this, users will not be able to log in.Downloading the app
The download link for the Pryme Time client app is available directly in the Pryme Time Setup page in Business Central. Share this link with users so they can install the app on their machine.
Connecting to Business Central
Once the app is installed, a user needs to connect it to their Business Central environment. This can be done in two places:
- From the Connect Timer App action in the Timer app action group in Pryme Time Setup
- From the Time Tracking Entries page
The app will then open a Microsoft login page and display a code. Enter the code when prompted to complete the login. Once connected, the app is ready to use.
Starting and stopping a timer
To start tracking time, find the entry you want to work on in the list and press the Start button. The timer will begin counting immediately. Press Stop when you are done. You can have multiple entries in the list and switch between them at any time.
The entry list
Each entry in the list shows the total time tracked, a description, and a start/stop button. Expanding an entry gives you access to additional fields:
Customer - the customer the work is billed to Project - the project you are tracking time against Task - the specific task within the project Work type - the type of work being performed

All dropdown fields are searchable - start typing to filter the list.Opening in Business Central
To view or manage an entry directly in Business Central, use the Open in BC button. This opens the Time Tracking Calendar at today’s date.
