Reminders

Set up automatic email reminders for owners with overdue risk reviews or overdue mitigation actions.

Risk owners and mitigation action owners can get an automatic email when work they’re responsible for is overdue. Reminders are opt-in and configured separately for risk reviews and mitigation actions, so you can turn on one without the other.

When to use it

Turn on reminders when relying on the My Overdue Risk Reviews cue or manually checking the Overdue Risk Reviews page isn’t enough, for example, when owners need a nudge even on days they don’t open Business Central.

To turn on reminders

  1. Choose the 🔎 icon, enter Risk Management Setup, and then choose the related link.
  2. In the Reminders section, set one or both of the following to Yes:
    • Send Overdue Risk Review Reminders — emails risk owners when their risks pass Next Review Date.
    • Send Overdue Mitigation Action Reminders — emails action owners when their mitigation action lines pass Due Date.
  3. The Job Queue Entry Card opens automatically. Review the schedule and choose Set Status to Ready (or your preferred schedule) to activate it.

Setting a reminder field to Yes only creates or reuses the job in an On Hold state. The reminder doesn’t actually run until you activate the Job Queue Entry.

To turn off reminders

Set the reminder field back to No. If the related Job Queue Entry is currently active, you’re asked:

“The scheduled job ‘[job description]’ is currently active. Do you also want to stop it?”

Confirming sets the Job Queue Entry to On Hold. The Job Queue Entry itself is never deleted, so turning the reminder back on later reuses it instead of creating a new one.

What counts as overdue

  • Risk reviews — the risk’s Next Review Date is before today, Status is not Closed, and the risk has an Owner. This matches the Overdue Risk Reviews page, including materialized risks.
  • Mitigation actions — the action line’s Due Date is before today, Status is not Completed or Cancelled, and the line has an Owner.

What the email contains

Each owner gets one email per reminder type, listing everything overdue that they own, not one email per risk or per line.

  • Overdue risk reviews — lists Risk No., Description, Related Type, Related No., Score Zone, Next Review Date, and days overdue for each overdue risk.
  • Overdue mitigation actions — lists Risk No., risk description, Mitigation Action, Description, Due Date, days overdue, and Status for each overdue line.

Recipient address

The recipient’s address is taken from the E-Mail field on their User Setup record, matched to the risk or action line Owner.

Sending a reminder on demand

You don’t have to wait for the scheduled job. On Risk Management Setup, choose Send Overdue Risk Review Reminders or Send Overdue Mitigation Action Reminders to run either job immediately.
