Work items email notifications

Learn about the email notifications for the work items.

When a work item is assigned or when it’s overdue to start or complete email notification can be sent to inform the related resource about that.

To set up email notifications

You must set up email as described in Set up email.

There is email scenario Work Item Notification to which you can assign specific email account if you prefer to send email notifications through it.

In which cases email notifications should be sent or how subject of the email should look like, you can set up as described in Email notifications settings.

Sending email notifications

Email notifications when work item is assigned to someone are sent almost immediately to that resource.

Email notifications when work item is overdue to start or complete are sent via job queue entry which you can schedule as described in Email notifications settings.
